Welcome to the TMEA Region 24 Vocal Division Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year! In order to ease communication for directors and students, we have established this web site. You will find many useful links for both directors and students, including audition dates and sites, audition rules, directions, etc. We hope you find this site useful and easy to navigate.
Auditioning for Region? Here is a checklist of things to do or remember:
- Get your music (you must have originals) and learn it ASAP
- Check the rehearsal notes and misprints link on the Auditions Tab of this web site
- Be aware of your audition dates, sectionals and region weekend for when you make the choir
- Practice your sight reading
When you audition remember you are committing to the following dates:
- Phase 1 Auditions (Women Only) at Marcus HS - September 30th
- Region Auditions (Women and Men) at Newman Smith HS- Saturday, October 9th
- Region Sectionals at South Lake Carroll HS (West Zone) or Hebron HS (East Zone) - Tuesday, October 26th
- Region Weekend at Lewisville HS Cluster- Friday & Saturday, November 5th & 6th
If you are seeking to go all the way to Texas All-State Choir you need to also have these dates available:
- Pre Area Auditions at Grapevine HS - Tuesday, November 16th
- Area Auditions at Abilene Cooper HS- Saturday, January 8th
- TMEA All-State Convention in San Antonio- February 9th-12th
