SAT DATES

Please be aware that Region Auditions and Region Weekend have SAT date conflicts. You need to plan accordingly.

There are other dates available to take the SAT so avoid October 9th and November 6!

***Please note the change in the number of students that advance from previous years. Just because you earn chair 36 or below does NOT insure a place in the Region Choir. Chairs 1-46 will audition again at the Region Auditions and the top 36 will earn a place in the Region Choir.

February 8th- 11th, San Antonio

All-State Mixed (Chairs 1-4)
All-State Treble (Chairs 5-10)

There are various rounds of auditions as part of the TMEA All State Process. Each round will have a set of prepared literature to audition which will be posted on this website. The Region auditions are separated out by the following:

Phase 1 (Women Only) - Students will receive the cuts and mp3 files prior to the audition. For voice parts with two audition rooms the top 23 students will advance from each room for a total of 36 students on that particular voice part. For voice parts with one audition room the top 36 will advance. This round DOES NOT INCLUDE SIGHT READING

Region (Men & Women) - Students will receive the cuts and mp3 files prior to the audition. The top thrity-six females from each voice part will audition again including sight reading. Numbers 1-15 will be named to the All Region Mixed Choir and will continue to Pre-Area. Numbers 16-36 will be named to the All Region Treble Choir. All males will audition and numbers 1-15 will be named to the All Region Mixed Choir and will continue to Pre-Area. This round INCLUDES SIGHT READING.

Pre-Area - Members of the All Region Mixed Choir (numbers 1-15 from the Region Audition) will prepare the appropriate literature for the audition. Students WILL NOT RECEIVE THE CUTS UNTIL THEY ARRIVE. This round INCLUDES SIGHT READING. Numbers 1-5 from each voice part will be named Area Candidates for Region 24 and will continue on in the All State Audition Process.

Area Audition - Will take place in Abilene. Students from four regions will be auditioning for a total of twenty students auditioning per voice part. Students WILL NOT RECEIVE THE CUTS UNTIL THEY ARRIVE. This round INCLUDES SIGHT READING. For females numbers 1-4 will be named to the All State Mixed Choir and numbers 5-9 will be named to the All State Treble Choir. For males numbers 1-4 will be named to the All State Mixed Choir and numbers 5-8 will be named to the All State Men's Choir.
